Richard LeParmentier, who played Admiral Motti in Star Wars A New Hope, has written a screenplay about what happens to Admiral Motti after the Death Star Exploded. This is a bit from his website.
“Some of the voice tracks and some of the sound effects have now been recorded.Ken Colley has reprised his role as Captain Piett.I voiced Motti and Jerome Blake, who does the best Vader impersonation, has recorded Vader.Garrick Hagon and Jeremy Bulloch are lined up to do Troopers 3 and 4.We plan to add more actors from the films.
If anyone can help with animation contacts or anything else please get in touch with me via the site.”
You’ll notice that he has lined up actors from the original movie and has asked for some help in the animation dept. I think that I might be able to help. Here’s a mock up that I did last night.

When I sat down and mapped out what I needed to do on my various projects, I forgot to mark today as a day off. So my Labor day had a bit of labor to it. I started by finishing up some work on a website, which stopped working right when I was trying to finish it. You see, I was trying to wrap things up by 10:00 because my girls had invited all of their cousins over to make a movie for my Mom, who’s in the hospital. So, I worked with her last night to make a shot list and then make assignments for props so the day would go better. I guess when dealing with about 6 little girls under the age of 8 things could have gone worse.
We finished the taping, then I went with my brother to the hospital to visit, then we came home and there was another party starting. I’m so glad that I cleaned up the yard on Saturday.
Anyway, one of the things that my boy really wanted for his birthday was for me to make some sketch cards just for him. So at his special request I made Rex and Cody. I was feeling good about sketching so I followed that up with Hammerhead and Old Ben.

So I plugged in my external drive this morning and the icon popped up in the task bar and I just couldn’t believe that I hadn’t noticed this before. The USB icon looks like a Mandalorian Skull. On Boba Fett’s left shoulder pad is the icon of the mandalorian skull. The similarity is just uncanny.

One of the things that I was most excited about with the new Star Wars movie was all of the little details. StarWars.com has an article about all of the little details that you may have missed the first time you saw Clone Wars. Click HERE to jump to the article.
When I was out at the San Diego ComicCon, I went to the Lucasfilm party. There at the party they had gifts for the guests. The coolest of these being the Clone Wars Ammo box with a patch inside. I was checking out the patch and realized that it was made to look like one of the painting that the WWII pilots would put on their planes. I think that its called nose art. I love the patch, but didn’t know what to do with it.
Then it hit me! The Star Wars fan costuming club is called the 501st. The name is derived (I suppose) from the WWII 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment. So I thought that the perfect way to wear the patch was to find an WWII officer shirt! I used my Indiana Jones shirt and it worked perfect. The finishing touch was of course to add my pin from the Philippine Outpost of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers.
At San Diego ComicCon Otto said that he was going to use the ammo box to store his pens. I thought that was a great idea. I wonder if I’ll have any trouble flying with an Ammo can in my luggage?

I know it’s a bit overdue, but I had a bit of trouble getting everything together. I have thankfully been very busy lately.
The Clone Wars opened on August 15th, shortly after my son’s birthday. One of his birthday presents was to go to see the movie. I found out that the Rebel Legion and the 501st would be presenting Dan Harkins of Harkins Theaters with an honorary memebership. So, we went to the movie early and then hung out after word to see everyboday and the presentation. I had my little old Canon digital camera with me and I shot some photos and a video.

When I was promoting my Star Wars Celebration Japan Print I made a little animation from it. Bonnie over at the official Star Wars Blog posted about it and it caught the eye of Mark Newbold from the website Lightsabre. Over on the Star Wars Blog, Mark wrote,
“Just added it to Lightsabre, and laughed out loud at how cool it is.
Thought it was a shame that the Cantina music couldn’t be used, but having watched it a couple of times I kind of prefer the music that’s in there.
Great stuff Spencer, really liked that and we’d love to interview you on Lightsabre if you ever find the time!”.
Thanks for the Plug Mark! The interview is available on Lightsaber.

I’ve finally received my sketch cards back from Topps. I did 106 cards for the Star Wars:Clone Wars set and as part of my payment for the work I choose 6 cards to keep. I have decided to put the first card up on eBay. The card fits into a larger illustration to complete the picture. I have made a custom matte for the card and sketch frame to fit in a 9×12 frame. I’m excited to see how this goes.

A friend of mine told me once that I was pretty talented, but if I wanted to really make it I should probably create my own content instead of making Star Wars stuff. Leland Chee has found a way to make a living through his love of Star Wars. There’s a great article about him on WIRED. Here’s a bit about what he does. “His official title is continuity database administrator for the Lucas Licensing arm of Lucasfilm—which means Chee keeps meticulous track of not just the six live-action movies but also cartoons, TV specials, scores of videogames and reference books, and hundreds of novels and comics.”
This is the online portfolio of Spencer L. Brinkerhoff III. You will need Flash Player to view parts of this website. I have lots of different interests, and am involved in many different
projects. I like cartoons and animation, movies and independent video
projects, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and general adventure. I draw, shoot
video, illustrate, animate, sculpt and am a husband and father. I think
that I'll try my hand at blogger. Anybody know how to make money at
this?
