It is time for the great big San Diego Comic Con.  Preview night is on Wednesday the 20th, and the show continues through Sunday.  Stop by and see me at the Wildstar Tempest booth.  We’ve taken over another block and are now located at Booth 4513-4613, so we should be hard to miss.

I’ll be doing some live sketches as well as having prints and posters for sale.  I have a small gallery of the art I’ll have at the show over on Facebook.  This is also where I’ll be uploading new images from the event, so stop and by and have a look.

It may be a little early, but I wanted to put out the word that I will be attending the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival on November the 6th. The show is from 11-4PM at the Clark County Library. This will be the second time that I’ve been a guest of World Famous Comics at the show, but this year I will be participating on one of the discussion panels. Starting at 11:15 in the large conference room,  Jarret Keene poses the questions, and “our Masters of the Impossible” – Deryl Skelton, Eric Shanower, the Fillbach Brothers, and Spencer Brinkerhoff III — provide the answers.  Working around the question ”What would happen if …?” we discuss the process of transfering from story concepts to paper.

I have ordered the ESB “Lethal - STAYOUT!” shirts that will be shipped to the convention.  Come by exhibitor’s booth #337 to pick one up.  I will only have the the white t-shirt in the following sizes and quantities.

In addition to this new design, the following “Han Shot First” design has also been approved.  Take a moment to edit the t-shirt and move the design around so that you can get creative and add the line, “and he’s sorry about the mess”.  :D

Here are a couple of the collectables I’ll be having at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando Florida August 12-15, 2010. I’ll be drawing on 2.5″x3.5″ sketch cards designed like the vintage action figure card backs. I’ll also be able to take a photo of you and print it out on a 5″x7″ Celebration V print and add a special sketch to it. The show is starting up this week!  I am super happy to announce that I have just found out that the licensing has approved a new design to debut at the convention.  Here’s the new design titled, “Lethal - STAY OUT!”  I will also have a few of the “Choking Hazard” shirts on hand.

In addition to the Limited Edition Exclusive print that I will have available at the convention, I have also made some fancy little sketch cards.  For $30 you can commission a single character and get a fancy memento.  :D

Wow it’s that time of year again.  A time to escape the heat of Phoenix and head to beautiful California so I can spend hours sitting behind a table sketching and selling my illustrations.  I am returning to the show as a guest of Wildstar Tempest at booth #4613 with Heather Theurer and Russell Walks.  In addition to the Clone Wars Shadow Boxes that I posted earlier, I’ll have sketch books, and my licensed Star Wars art,  I am also bringing some new work with me to the show.

I am pleased to announce that my third limited edition licensed print has been officially announced at StarWars.com!  It is an exclusive item for the Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando this August, but you can reserve the print from the Studios B3 store.  The print measure 12″x24″ to match the previous 2 prints and again is titled for  one of Han Solo’s lines from the movie.  So come on out to Orlando next month and pick up a print!

I am taking a bit of a leap, but here it goes.  I have been invited to create my third officially licensed Lucasfilm art print.  It will be available at the Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando Florida.  The convention will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back August the 12th-15.  This print will be 12″ x 24″ matching my previous prints and will thematically fit to complete the series.

Now that I’ve said that I’ve been invited to the show I have to explain what I mean by the title of this post.  I have decided to move out of the art show and take up a booth space at the convention.  I will be at a corner booth across from the Jedi Stage next to Matt Busch, The Art of Ralph McQuarrie, Tsuneo Sanda, Tom Hodges and right down the way from LEGO!  I’m not sure where they will all be set up, but my friends Jason Palmer,  Monte Moore, and Dave Dorman will be also be out on the exhibitors floor.  (I hope I haven’t missed anyone).  You can see a fantastic interactive map from the Star Wars Celebration site.
