Another video is out by Seth MacFarlane.
One of the things that I really liked about the advertising tie in with Burger King was the creative way that they integrated the King into the opening of the cartoon. The first cartoon with Super Mario was 2 minutes long and opened with the King being chased by the natives from Indiana Jones. The second cartoon with the dog and the $25,000.00 pyramid was only 1 min. but it introduced the new King intro where he’s running in slow motion away from the bomb. The Burger King “Commercial” at the begining was better than the cartoon.
Today’s cartoon about Bob Marley was a disappointment. They showed the punchline for the cartoon in the teaser video promoting the series, this cartoon was only 1 minute long AND they re-used the King intro from the Pyramid short. I was REALLY looking forward to a new commercial. COME ON!!! ADVERTISE TO MEEEEE!!!
So here’s the breakdown.
05 seconds “Seth MacFarlane’s Calvelcade of Cartoon Comedy” logo is on screen.
15 seconds Burger King animated integrated pre-roll advertising
04 seconds Cartoon title card, “Why Bob Marley should not have acted as his own Attorney”
25 seconds Cops interrogate Bob Marley
11 seconds End credits

Well, it has begun! I wrote a post before about the idea of releasing new creative content onto the internet and completely skipping tv. Here’s what it looks like.

Richard LeParmentier, who played Admiral Motti in Star Wars A New Hope, has written a screenplay about what happens to Admiral Motti after the Death Star Exploded. This is a bit from his website.
“Some of the voice tracks and some of the sound effects have now been recorded.Ken Colley has reprised his role as Captain Piett.I voiced Motti and Jerome Blake, who does the best Vader impersonation, has recorded Vader.Garrick Hagon and Jeremy Bulloch are lined up to do Troopers 3 and 4.We plan to add more actors from the films.
If anyone can help with animation contacts or anything else please get in touch with me via the site.”
You’ll notice that he has lined up actors from the original movie and has asked for some help in the animation dept. I think that I might be able to help. Here’s a mock up that I did last night.

I’m working on a couple of different projects right now and have been making some backgrounds. It’s pretty tough work! I start out with a rough sketch for the animatic. Then I clean it up in flash and add a depth of field and lighting effect in photoshop.

Just a little post to let you all know about the crazies of the day! I had a great meeting today to go over some concepts for a new Web Show I’ll be working on as well as a toy line. I’m not going to give away anything just yet, but I’ll be posting more as things really get going. The whole reason why this site is Studios B3 is because I couldn’t ever seem to get hired by a big animation studio. So I figured that the internet would allow me to make my own studio and distribute channel. Now, I’ve found an independent toy maker to team up with to write some stories and make some toys and have some adventures! This ought to be good!

There are so many projects that get started but then never get completed. My friend Eldon and I were talking about Dr. Horrible’s sing-a-long blog and he mentioned what a big Buffy fan that he was. This is a clip of what the Animated Buffy could have been.

When I first heard the Band the Gorillaz I thought it was pretty cool. Then I saw the videos and learned that the “Band” was really an artistic collaboration between Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. Sorry kids, the Gorillaz are not a real band in the Traditional sense, I guess they’re more like the Monkees. Hmmm, let me explain that a bit. I like the Monkees and I like the Gorillaz (WOW! I have never made that name association before!!) but both “band” were fabricated. The Monkees were were initially the public face of a music production system. They later earned the chance to make their own music, but at the start the were just the vocals and a image. So the Gorillaz are a virtual band with animated characters similar to Alvin and the Chipmonks or the Archies.
Any way, I have always liked Jamie Hewlett’s style and the way that the traditionally animated characters are integrated into a 3D world. Here’s a video done for the BBC olympic coverage.

This is the print that I have done for the Star Wars Celebration Japan. The convention is on July 19th-21st in Chiba Japan.
This print is limited to 250 and can only be purchased in Japan. I sketched out the characters (Greedo, Wuher, and some creatures) and then redrew them and colored them in Flash. I wanted to have an original piece for the art show so I made a shadow box.
Then, I figured that since I already had a the file in Flash, I would make an animation out of it. I started working on the animation on Wednesday.
This is the online portfolio of Spencer L. Brinkerhoff III. You will need Flash Player to view parts of this website. I have lots of different interests, and am involved in many different
projects. I like cartoons and animation, movies and independent video
projects, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and general adventure. I draw, shoot
video, illustrate, animate, sculpt and am a husband and father. I think
that I'll try my hand at blogger. Anybody know how to make money at
this?
