This just in from the Star Wars site! LucasArts has announced that two rounds of downloadable content will soon be available on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace to extend the playtime of The Force Unleashed. Some of the new playable characters include Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!!
“Later this year, the second pack of content will be distributed, this time giving Starkiller himself an entirely new mission to master. Heading to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, The Apprentice seeks to discover the truth about his father — but on the way must confront his own past. In this new area, the player will truly have their skills tested with the barrage of enemies they must face.”

The Most Greatest Power in the ‘Verse, he that is known as “JOSS” is up to his Shenanigans again.
So, Joss Whedon has had GigantaSauras success with his project “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog”. His plan is really quite simple. Make original creative content for all of your adoring fans on the inter-webs and give it to them for free. THEN if they want a portable version of the video masterpiece they can buy a downloadable copy from iTunes. It’s not the best quality, but it least you can own a copy and take it with where ever you want to. THEN go ahead and make a DVD release that has behind the scenes footage and directors comments etc.
Now we come to the Evil League of Evil. In the Dr. Horrible Sing-a-long, Dr. Horrible was applying to be a part of the Evil League of Evil. You too young cadets can send in a 3 minute video to apply for membership in the league. If you are accepted your application video will be include on the DVD of Dr. Horrible.

I think that this photo says it all.
Today is the baby’s due date. We don’t mind that she came early, really. About 1 1/2 weeks ago at the doctor appointment my wife was told that there wasn’t much progress and that the baby wouldn’t be born till her due date or maybe not until October. My poor wife was crushed! She has been so uncomfortable and has been working so hard to prepare for the baby. This was some bad news.
Well, the Sunday following that appointment she started having some major contractions. They were timed close enough that she woke me up and told me to get ready to go. We got ready, and she took a shower and they all stopped. Again, she was crushed.
She went to the doctor on Monday and they told her the same thing as last time. No real changes, the baby was on track for the due date and maybe even later. CRUSHED!!!!
I noticed late Tuesday afternoon that she was in a really good mood. I asked her what was going on and she said with a grin, “I’m having contractions!” Odd that so much pain and discomfort can make someone so happy. We put the kids to bed at 8:00 PM, called over a friend, went to the hospital and the baby came just before midnight.

…that damned elusive Pimpernel!
When I was in College my friend Eldon introduced me to the Scarlet Pimpernel. I thought that the movie was fun and the character to be a sort of Batman/Zorro character type, but I didn’t become an overnight fan. Years later, I saw that the BBC had made a trilogy of Scarlet Pimpernel movies. I was looking for gift for my wife and I thought that the movies would be something that we could enjoy together. Boy was I right! They were Great! Lot’s of action and witty banter. Here’s a link to the movie.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve watched those movies, but over the last weekend we were watching Penelope. I kept looking at the main character’s father thinking that I recognized him. Then my wife figured it out. It was the PIMPERNEL, Richard E. Grant!
I highly reccomend this movie. The little girl in the movie is born different and spends all of her life looking for a way to break her curse. In the end, it turns out that the solution that she was looking for was right under her nose.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming to home video on November 11, as a single-disc DVD, two-disc Special Edition DVD, and — the first for any Star Wars release — a Hi-Def Blu-Ray release.

On October 30, 1938 the American radio drama anthology series aired an adaptation of H. G. Wells’ novel The War of the Worlds directed and narrated by Orson Welles. The first two thirds of the broadcast was presented as a series of simulated news bulletins with no commercial breaks. With the tension and anxiety leading to World War II, many listeners thought that an actual Martian invasion was in progress. This created quite a panic.
I’ve found some similarities between this radio broadcast and the video below. In the UK there are Closed-Circuit Television cameras all over the city. In the same spirit of Orson Welles, James Sanger decided to create a type of Alien invasion that when seen through the media would appear real and thus require further investigation.

The Spectacular Spider-man is, well, Spectacular. (LAME WRITING!!) I just saw this video on IGN and I had to share it. I love that the show is full of action and great stunts, but then there’s Spider-man’s smart-alec comments. His Quips have been written for me to enjoy. Watch for the one when Smokin’ Hot Mary Jane turns to Peter’s friend Randy and they have this interchange, “It’s Randy Right? Very.”
