A friend of mine told me once that I was pretty talented, but if I wanted to really make it I should probably create my own content instead of making Star Wars stuff. Leland Chee has found a way to make a living through his love of Star Wars. There’s a great article about him on WIRED. Here’s a bit about what he does. “His official title is continuity database administrator for the Lucas Licensing arm of Lucasfilm—which means Chee keeps meticulous track of not just the six live-action movies but also cartoons, TV specials, scores of videogames and reference books, and hundreds of novels and comics.”

Bonnie posted a link on facebook to this cool video. Here’s the description of the video from the site. The first music video ever shot with a 360 degree panoramic lens. A tripped out journey into the track “My 1st Big Break.

Just a little post to let you all know about the crazies of the day! I had a great meeting today to go over some concepts for a new Web Show I’ll be working on as well as a toy line. I’m not going to give away anything just yet, but I’ll be posting more as things really get going. The whole reason why this site is Studios B3 is because I couldn’t ever seem to get hired by a big animation studio. So I figured that the internet would allow me to make my own studio and distribute channel. Now, I’ve found an independent toy maker to team up with to write some stories and make some toys and have some adventures! This ought to be good!

I’ve done some work with Photoshop, and some work with video, but this video that I found today is AMAZING! To sum things up, these guys are working on a process that will allow the creator to fix their video footage by taking high resolution photos at the time of the video shoot. They then mesh the photos into the video and it magically fixes everything!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens today. I opted to not go to the Midnight showing so that my son and I could go today. It looks like there are going to be some costumed Clone Troopers on hand at the Harkins Tempe Marketplace around 7:00 or so for photos etc. We’ll probably go and see the movie earlier then hang out a bit with the Clones.

This from About.com. Some fun news about the way that the PS3 is doing something ELSE new. HEY! GUESS WHAT?!?!? It plays video games TOO!
“The PS3 is being pushed not only as a game device, but also a personal media center. The dual channel TV tuner peripheral and DVR software turns the PS3 into an advanced TV recorder, allowing you to watch, pause and record live TV. Much like TiVo and other DVR systems, PlayTV will record individual programs or whole seasons of shows to the PS3’s hard drive.”

There are so many projects that get started but then never get completed. My friend Eldon and I were talking about Dr. Horrible’s sing-a-long blog and he mentioned what a big Buffy fan that he was. This is a clip of what the Animated Buffy could have been.

I had seen this presentation by J.J. Abrams at TED when it was first released last year, and then saw it again on Otis Frampton’s blog. I think that it’s a wonderful presentation about the magic and power of storytelling.
