I love being able to impress my children with my amazing skills. I’m not just talking about being able to clean off everyone’s leftovers or the ever impressive “Pull-my-finger” stunt. I’m talking about Duct Tape and Cardboard. I had posted a bit about the guy who used duct tape to make the Batman mask. That wasn’t some of my handy work so I thought that I would go ahead and show off my Transformer costume.
It’s not a new costume, but I still like it. I don’t think that it survived our latest move.

In preparation for Halloween, I was showing my kids and nephews the Michael Jackson Thriller video. When it started, my 12 year old nephew said, “Which one is Michael Jackson?”. I thought that was pretty funny.
For some reason the Thriller video has embedding disabled. You can go and watch the video here or you can remember how great it felt to remember the song by watching this scene from 13 going on 30.

Batman the Brave and the Bold was the cover story of the San Diego ComicCon edition of Animation Magazine. I noticed right away that the style was a bit of a throw back to early versions of the not-so-dark knight. I saw the trailer on Otis Frampton’s site and was pretty impressed with the music and the classic feel to it. I’m waiting till I get through about 3 episodes before I pass final judgment, but I’ve got a good feeling about it. It’s got a Johnny Quest/New Scooby Doo kinda feel to it. Here’s the trailer.
Just in case you weren’t getting that classic vibe, a fan has remixed the audio and added some of the old sound effects to it. It nudges the style right back to my childhood.

I found this video from the Star Wars Blog and was pretty impressed with it. Fanboy Corey Vidal has absconded the Theraputic Harmonies of Moosbutter and made his own video. I’m not sure how or if Corey is associated with the group, but the video is fun.

According to the Dow Jones Report, Walmart will start selling the new T-mobile G1 today. I have been a T-mobile customer for the past 2 years and have some credit to spend on a new phone and have been considering getting this Android phone. As a reward for being such a great customer and honoring my contract with T-mobile, I’ll be able to buy the phone for the discounted price of $179.99. That discount price from T-moblie is actually $31.11 MORE than if I just walked off the street and into a Wal-Mart to buy it there. THANKS!!

Origami is pretty cool stuff. I’m amazed that people can take a ordinary piece of paper and turn it into a miniature sculpture. It’s even better when it’s Star Wars. Click the photo to see more a Gizmodo.

The closer that we get to Halloween, the more I love duct tape. It seems that you can make just about anything with it. To further prove this point I present to you the Duct Tape Batman mask. click the image to see the steps.

Johnny Rock Page is a Superbike Racer who stole newspaper headlines by defeating the expert riders at Firebird Raceway in his rookie year. He was quickly proving himself as one of the best racers, but he ran out of money and couldn’t continue his dream. He didn’t give up, he just took a little longer to get there. He started his own company and has become successful and is back on the superbike scene and wants to bring the sport more attention. He is working on a pitch for a reality show about his story of success and I’ve been part of the production by making a few props and images for some animated sequences. Here’s one of the props that I drew. Click on the picture above to go to his site and see more about him.
