Star Wars Fan Film Festival UPDATE!

Well, I’ve had a couple of posts about the progress of my new cartoon. I worked pretty hard to get it done before the deadline, but alas, it was all for naught. I thought that I would be ok to use a song from High School Musical if I edited the length, changed the lyrics etc. What I didn’t realize is that Atomfilms pays their filmmakers based on the number of views that each cartoon gets. So even if my cartoon were protected under the terms of Parody and Fair Use, I couldn’t make any money off of using someone else’s copyrighted material. Oh, well. I thought that there was no prize for the contest and felt justified using the song.

I did contact Disney to see what they thought about it. So, without further adieu, I present my rejected cartoon!!!
