Chewbacca in Color
Here’s an update with the color version of Chewbacca. I colored the characters normal and then am experimenting with color tinting in Photoshop.

Yes, I like messing with color in photoshop as well. Sometimes it’s nice to have the hand-drawn color with markers or pencils, as it gives it a more crafted feel. But there are times when I’ll do lighting effects in photoshop because it’s easier to make edits on the fly without worrying that you’ll ruin your piece. I’ve got a few star wars pieces out there in Deviant Art (accessible through my links on my wordpress website) that depict this to some extent. Oh, and have you tried the trick of having your character on one layer in Photoshop, locking it, and then being able to add color tints with a large brush?
And, I really like this scene. Very nice work so far!
I think that the other thing that’s cool about drawing with markers is that when you’re done you have an complete original work. When it’s colored on the computer I feel like it loses a bit of that sense of having an original.
