Hello Domo Kun

Domo Kun is the mascot of Japan’s NHK television station, appearing in several 30 second stop-motion sketches shown as station identification during shows, AND he’s absolutely 100% made of AWESOME.

“DOMO” means thank you in Japanese and the suffix “KUN” is used for addressing young men (like Mr. Miyagi used to called his student Daniel San).

I recognized Domo Kun when I saw him the other day at Target. It looks like they’ve “Hired” him as their Halloween mascot.

This is the video that Target has made with Domo.

Here are some of the original shorts that were made in Japan

Netflicks and Hulu on your PS3

Writing by Spencer on Thursday, 2 of October , 2008 at 1:03 pm

Netflicks has been offering a download service for their movies for a little while now.  So instead of the movies simply coming to your mailbox they can come to your computer.  That’s pretty neat stuff, but you’re still stuck sittning in front of your computer to watch a show.  That’s where a new software called PlayOn comes into the picture.  This software streams video from your PC to the PS3.  They’re in beta right now, so you can download the software for free and try it out for 60 days.  The movie aspect of this is pretty cool, but what I find even more appealing is that it will also stream Hulu, ESPN, YouTube and CBS.  After the 60 day trial the software costs  $30.  That’s a LOT better than a cable bill.
