Here’s a illustration that I was commissioned to make for a sticker to go on the shoulder of a Biker Scout. I first tried to print the image myself and make a water decal, but the ink just sat on top of the paper. Then, I tried to get the image printed onto vinyl to make the sticker, but wasn’t happy with the print quality. So this is printed on a transparent sticker label sheet at Kinko’s. I decided that I would put it on my AmmoBox to see how it looked and I’m pretty happy with it.

I had posted before about the Millenium Falcon shadow box that I had been commissioned to make, but since I have worked on this new method to display them, I thought I would give it the 3D treatment. I’ll be taking this shadow box with me to the Fan Days III convention on Oct. 24-25th.

To kick off Tuesday’s release of Joe Schreiber’s new zombie-fied Death Troopers novel, StarWars.com is having a week’s worth of zombie artwork… “by several well-known artists in the Star Wars community.” heheh, me! You can see my image and the others here.

My wife has worked very hard to get our kids into a night time routine so that they’ll go to bed without too much fuss. Somewhere along the way, they decided that they needed to have flashlights. We couldn’t stand to walk into the room and find the kids asleep with the batteries dead on the flashlight. So for Christmas we found some Wind-Up flashlights and they have been pretty awesome. Well, the other day I saw a great concept from designer Qian Jiang, Wind-Up Batteries! Get more info at Yanko Design.

I wrote before about the wonderful April Fools Tauntaun sleeping bag that was made by the website ThinkGeek. Well, it looks like they’re closing on in making it into a reality. Click here to get more details.
One of the things that I like most about this item is that it was made by fans for a gag, just for fun. Then, when it was released to the public the public responded by DEMANDING that it become a reality. LOOK AT IT! Who wouldn’t want to play Luke Skywalker and use the little lightsaber zipper to cut open their fallen Tauntaun steed so they could climb inside and keep warm on the frozen planet of Hoth? :D
Currently listed as “Out of Stock”, I suspect that they are gathering emails as a way to take a pre-orders. They are offering the sleeping bag for $99.00 and hope to be shipping a limit number of this initial run in November. (Perfect timing for Christmas and plenty of snow play). Also of note in the product description is the following, “Enough room for adults, plenty of space for kids”.

So last Friday was the premiere of season 2 of Star Wars:Clone Wars. The episode centered around last season’s newest character, a bounty hunter by the name of Cad Bane. So in the two episodes that they showed on Friday we saw what a tough guy that Bane is. He breaks into the Jedi Temple, steals from the vault, kills a Jedi, stands up to Anakin then captures Ahsoka. Then when he’s trying to get off the ship two clone troopers get the drop on him and take him out. WHAT!?!!?! I don’t think so. In the shot we see Bane fall off the upper balcony to his death, then one of the injured Clone Troopers jumps on the boarding platform to join the rest of the evacuees. I’m pretty sure that Lucas learned his lesson from the less than stellar death scene of Boba Fett and what we really saw was Bane dressed as a Clone to sneak off the ship. Hmmmm, he’s got those tubes on his face, I wonder if they could fit under the Clone helmet? Here’s the trailer for Season 2.
