Jedi Song

It’s kinda fun to see that Lucasfilm and the Cartoon Network can have a little fun with Star Wars.  Check out this music video advertisement for the new season of Clone Wars.  I believe that it begins on October 2nd.

Along with that silly video, let’s watch the trailer for the new season that’s currently being titled, “Rise of the Bounty Hunters”.  :D

That’s My Boy

Writing by Spencer on Tuesday, 25 of August , 2009 at 3:34 pm

Sometimes when I look back at baby pictures of my kids, it’s hard to tell which baby I’m looking at.  They all look so similar!  It’s equally entertaining to compare photos of me as a child with photos of my kids.  So it comes as no surprise when they start ACTING like me.  Falling asleep with Star Wars toys and grabbing a straw to get every last drop of syrup seems perfectly natural to me.  :D

Mini-Tumbler afterthoughts…

Writing by Spencer on Thursday, 20 of August , 2009 at 4:26 pm

I got to thinking about the go-kart Batmobile that I posted about.  This guy really has a genius idea on his hands.  He has created this Batmobile because he loves it.  His passion has moved him to action.  It looks like he spent around $2,000.00 to make the go-kart and now he’s selling the plans for about $40.00.  So you send him a PayPal money order, and he sends an email back to you with the plans as an attachment.  He’s selling an email! An email?!?! That’s like selling air!

He has documented the complete build of the kart, so why not make a DVD available as well?  WAIT A SECOND!  Some of those parts are kinda tricky to make on my own, so why doesn’t he offer “upgrades” to standard go-kart kits and then sell custom parts?  All this potential money generated from his obsession over the Batmobile.  I’ve got to start applying this principle to some of the stuff I obsess over and hope I can avoid any legal entanglements.  :D

Mini-Tumbler (Batmobile)

Writing by Spencer on Tuesday, 18 of August , 2009 at 9:38 pm

I have written before about the guy who made a full sized replica Batmobile from the Dark Knight movie.  Well, if you can’t go so far as to make a full sized Tumbler, why not make a mini one?

T-man has done just that.  He’s also documented the build on his YouTube channel, and his website, AND you can buy the plans from him so you can do it too.  That’s what I call “Selling your Sawdust”.  He spent the time and money to make and document the project, and then for $39.99 you he’ll send an email of the plans.  NICE!

Web Side Story

Writing by Spencer on Friday, 14 of August , 2009 at 3:59 pm

The other day my kids started watching High School Musical 3 and my three year old son told me that HE was Troy.  I have to admit, somedays, I want to be Troy too.  I mean c’mon!  He sings, he dances, he plays basketball and gets the smartest most cutest girl in school to be his girlfriend.  *sigh*  I guess if this musical movie trend continues, we just may be seeing more videos like this one below.  If James Bond and Star Trek can re-boot, why not update the musical?  Oh, and if hollywood ever comes up short on good ideas, they can always take something old and make it new again!

Sketch Card Practice

Writing by Spencer on Monday, 10 of August , 2009 at 5:02 pm

Well, to help promote my new print and other projects I’ve jumped onto the RebelScum forums to give away some free sketch cards.  During the day I post a comment with the word “GO!” and the first person to respond to my comment with a suggestion to draw a character gets a free sketch card.  Here are some of the cards that I’ve made.
